About the Author

Ruth was a Christian minister for nearly 40 years. In 1997, she returned to the United States to help with the American revival. She was pastor of Calvary Pentecostal Campground in Ashland, Virginia, as well as Mount Zion Fellowship in Jerusalem (an international prayer ministry in Jerusalem that celebrated its 25th anniversary in 1997). Ruth began with an emphasis on intercession through praise and worship. Ruth was a prominent speaker at Brownsville Assembly of God in Pensacola, Florida; Catholic revival conferences; and other conferences in America and abroad.

Known for her prophetic anointing, revelation, and ability to teach and lead people into immediate worship, Ruth ministered to heads of state and leaders around the world. She hosted Prayer Breakfasts for the previous two Presidential Inaugurations in Washington, D.C., attended by many members of Congress as well as international ambassadors and leaders. She served as chaplain to open the U.S. Congress and the Pennsylvania State Senate. Born into a classical Pentecostal family, she was equally at home among Protestants, Catholics, Jews, and Muslims.

She was known for her Gospel songs, such as “I Cry for the Nations” and “The Wheel.” “The Wheel” is sung throughout the world. Her bestseller, Glory, was translated into twelve languages. Glory, Glory of Revival, River Glory, and now Harvest Glory are used worldwide as guides for revival. Ruth Ward Heflin went home to be with her Lord on Friday, September 15, 2000.

The Heflins—the founders (her parents) of Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle in Richmond, Virginia, and Calvary Pentecostal Campground in Ashland, Virginia—were pioneers in the Pentecostal movement. Over the years, their ministry became known for clear prophetic gifts and miracles working through simple, sincere faith. Together, they ministered in more than 100 nations.

My life is very inspiring because I have always expected the next miracle, the next answer to prayer, the next thing Jesus would do for me. I think I have lived twenty lives in eighty years. The God of all miracles has been so good and so abundantly gracious to me. (Edith Heflin)

Wallace H. Heflin, Jr., was one of the most dynamic evangelists of our time. Great signs and wonders followed his ministry in more than seventy nations. Before his death in December 1996, he was pastor of Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle and director of Calvary Pentecostal Campground, where he trained and led thousands of people to the nations.
