Galatians 5:16–25

16 I say: walk by the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the desires of the flesh, 17 because the flesh strives against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; they oppose each other, so that you do not do what you would like. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 The works of the flesh are evident; they are: sexual immorality, impurity, debauchery, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, strife, jealousy, anger, quarrels, divisions, heresies, 21 hatred, [murder,] drunkenness, revelries, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, 23 gentleness, self-control. There is no law against such people. 24 Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.

John 15:1–8

1 I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He removes; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, so that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in Me, and I in you. Just as a branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in Me. 5 I am the vine, and you are the branches; whoever remains in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit, because without Me you can do nothing. 6 Whoever does not remain in Me is cast out like a branch and withers; such branches are gathered and thrown into the fire, and they burn. 7 If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 My Father is glorified by this: that you bear much fruit and become My disciples.

Matthew 7:16–20

16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people gather grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

Psalm 1:1–3

1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the company of mockers, 2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on His law day and night! 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season, and whose leaf does not wither; whatever he does prospers.
