Lesson 1. Types of Visions

May 6, 2020

Lesson 1 of the “Dreams and Visions” school. The author and teacher of the school is Dmitriy Leo, senior pastor of Father’s Blessing Church.

1. Spiritual PROJECTION

This is when a person is shown a vision in the form of pictures, words, signs, and symbols. Most often, it is a projection of something nonexistent as though it were real.

Isa. 2:1 “This is what Isaiah son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem: 2 In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and all nations will stream to it.”

Visions of this type are most often unclear, intermittent, and projected in two-dimensional space (like looking at a screen inside your head).

For example, you can close your eyes and imagine a green apple hanging in the air in front of your face. Do this right now. Did you see it? This is roughly what spiritual projections in our minds look like.

2. Spiritual SIGHT

This is when a person receives the ability to see the spiritual world. Unlike spiritual projection, the person sees what already exists in the spiritual realm.

2 Kings 6:17 “And Elisha prayed: — Lord, open his eyes so that he may see! The Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw that all around Elisha, over the whole mountain, were horses and chariots of fire.”

Spiritual sight is also called “panoramic vision,” because a person sees not only symbols or a projection before them, but the entire picture in three-dimensional space, exactly as they see with their physical eyes. Unlike spiritual projection, spiritual sight is not revealed to everyone and operates for a short time. A person does not need to see everything all the time. Most often, spiritual eyes are opened to prophets and prophetic people.

Have I had such experiences? Sometimes I see demons, but I do not want to see them often—it gets in the way. Sometimes God showed me criminals operating in the marketplace. I saw them clearly, while everyone else was hazy.

3. Spiritual TRANSLOCATION

This is when a person is transported into the spiritual world and becomes an eyewitness to what is happening there. They no longer merely see something from the outside; they become a participant in what is happening.

Rev. 4:1 “Then I looked and saw before me an open door into heaven and heard the first voice, like the sound of a trumpet, speaking to me. The voice said to me: — Come up here, and I will show you what must happen afterward. 2 Immediately I was in the Spirit, and there before me stood a throne in heaven, and Someone was sitting on the throne.”

This does not happen often, but it can happen to any of us (if God so desires).

Once I traveled to the center of the earth, where hell is located. This was not a vision—it was a translocation. I was in a spiritual body and sensed smells and wind, remained conscious, and maintained self-control.

A common problem with visions is that people receive a spiritual projection and present it as spiritual sight or translocation in the spirit. Never exaggerate, or you will lose the ability to see and hear the spiritual world.
