Be careful when interpreting other people’s symbols. Some symbols do indeed have similar meanings, but the possibility of error in this area is very high. The subject of symbols is very “slippery,” and it is easy to fall.
Remember, symbols–are an individual concept. One person sees one thing in a particular symbol, while another person sees something else in the same symbol. Therefore, ask the Lord what a particular symbol means for you.
- For example, for one person, the symbol of a mother-in-law may mean horror, while for another person, a mother-in-law may represent kindness and care.
- For one person, the symbol of money means good; for another, evil.
That is why symbols must be interpreted individually, and you should ask the One who encoded these symbols for their interpretation. You should ask the Holy Spirit for their meaning, rather than look for an interpretation in dream booksor from other people.
The Order of Interpretation
1.Test the dream over time. If you cannot forget the dream and the Holy Spirit continues to lead you toward an interpretation, then go ahead.
2.There is no need to interpret all the symbols at once or in the same way. Usually, there are one or two main symbols in a dream on which everything is built. People confuse themselves when they try to interpret everything. Remember the main rule: find the main symbol (or symbols) and determine the main theme—that is enough.
Examples of Symbols and Their Interpretation
You see yourself driving a car. You look at the dashboard and are surprised that you have traveled 10 kilometers so quickly. Suddenly, a person on the roadside flags you down and asks you for a ride. You stop, and the person gets into the car. You drive on, and suddenly the passenger begins threatening you and tries to take control of your car. He tries to pull the steering wheel from your hands, putting you in danger. This person shows you identification proving that he is a representative of the authorities. But you notice that the identification is fake: the photo has been forged, and the seal is blurred.
Let us suppose that this dream is from the Lord. Here is a possible interpretation of the symbols.
In 10 days or months, a person will come to you and ask to serve in a ministry related to church leadership. If you accept him, he will soon put your entire ministry at risk. He will claim to wield authority that he supposedly possesses, but he has no authority at all; he is an impostor.
