Scripture says that there will be judgment: people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment; God has appointed a day when He will judge the world through Jesus. Judgment is fair and is carried out according to deeds, and when the Lord comes, He will reveal what is hidden and the intentions of hearts (1 Cor 4:5); those who believe in Christ are promised no condemnation. At the same time, Scripture says that believers will stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
What Does the Bible Say About This?
- After death comes judgment (Heb 9:27); God has appointed a day when He will judge the world righteously through the Man whom He raised from the dead (Acts 17:30–31).
- God will repay each person according to their deeds (Rom 2:5–11); before the great white throne, the dead are judged according to what is written in the books, and anyone whose name is not written in the Book of Life is thrown into the lake of fire (Rev 20:11–15).
- When the Lord comes, He will reveal what is hidden in darkness and the intentions of hearts (1 Cor 4:5).
- Whoever believes in the One who sent Jesus does not come under judgment but has passed from death to life (John 5:22–24); there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ (Rom 8:1).
- We will all stand before the judgment seat of Christ; each of us will give an account to God (Rom 14:10–12; 2 Cor 5:10).

Hebrews 9:27
And just as people are appointed to die once, and after that to face judgment,
Acts 17:30–31
30 Therefore, having overlooked the times of ignorance, God now commands everyone everywhere to repent, 31 because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world righteously through the Man He has appointed, giving assurance to all by raising Him from the dead.
Romans 2:5–11
5 But because of your hardness and unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath and the revelation of God’s righteous judgment, 6 who will repay each person according to his works: 7 eternal life to those who, by persistence in doing good, seek glory, honor, and immortality; 8 but wrath and anger to those who are self-seeking and disobey the truth, but obey unrighteousness. 9 There will be tribulation and distress for every human being who does evil, first for the Jew, then also for the Greek; 10 but glory, honor, and peace for everyone who does what is good, first for the Jew, then also for the Greek. 11 For there is no partiality with God.
John 5:22–24
22 For the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son, 23 so that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. 24 Truly, truly, I tell you: whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
Revelation 20:11–15
11 I saw a great white throne and Him who was seated on it. Earth and heaven fled from His presence, and no place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne. And books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what was written in the books, according to their deeds. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to their deeds. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death—the lake of fire. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.
Romans 8:1
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus [[who do not live according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit]],
2 Corinthians 5:10

Romans 14:10–12
10 But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you despise your brother? We will all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 11 For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord, every knee will bow before Me, and every tongue will confess to God.” 12 So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.
1 Corinthians 4:5
Therefore, judge nothing before the appointed time, until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and reveal the motives of the heart; then each will receive praise from God.
