Where did Cain’s wife come from if Adam and Eve were the first people? This question is often presented as one of the contradictions in the Book of Genesis. But what does the Bible itself actually say about it?
In this examination, we will not speculate or invent unknown peoples. We will look directly at the passages of Scripture: why Eve is called “the mother of all living,” why Adam is called “the first man,” whom else Adam and Eve had, and exactly what is said about Cain’s wife.
The main question of this study is simple: can the origin of Cain’s wife be established using Scripture alone?
