Psalm 26 (in the Father’s Blessing Bible—Psalm 27) in full: “The Lord is my light and my salvation.”
1 Scripture passage · Father’s Blessing Bible
Psalm 27:1–14
1 The Lord is my light and my salvation: whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defender of my life: whom shall I dread? 2 When evildoers come against me to devour my flesh, those who oppress me and my enemies themselves will stumble and fall. 3 Though an army encamps against me, my heart will not fear; though war rises against me, even then I will hope. 4 One thing I have asked of the Lord, and that alone I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, behold the beauty of the Lord, and visit His holy temple, 5 because He would hide me in His tabernacle on the day of trouble, conceal me in the secret place of His dwelling, and lift me up upon a rock. 6 Then my head would be lifted above the enemies surrounding me; and I would offer sacrifices of praise in His tabernacle, singing and making melody before the Lord. 7 Hear, O Lord, my voice with which I call; have mercy on me and answer me. 8 My heart says from You: “Seek My face”; and I will seek Your face, O Lord. 9 Do not hide Your face from me; do not reject Your servant in anger. You have been my helper; do not cast me away or forsake me, O God, my Savior! 10 For my father and mother have forsaken me, but the Lord will receive me. 11 Teach me Your way, O Lord, and lead me on the path of righteousness, because of my enemies; 12 do not hand me over to the will of my enemies, for false witnesses have risen against me and breathe out violence. 13 But I believe that I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. 14 Hope in the Lord; be strong, and let your heart be strengthened, and hope in the Lord.
