Exodus 12:1–14

1 Now the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying: 2 This new moon shall be your beginning of new moons; it shall be your first new moon of the year. 3 Speak to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying: On the tenth day of this month, let them each take for themselves a lamb according to their fathers’ households, a lamb for each household; 4 and if the household is too small for a lamb, then let him take a lamb with his neighbor nearest to his house, according to the number of persons: according to how much each person will eat, calculate the number of people for the lamb. 5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male one year old; you shall take it from the sheep or the goats. 6 And you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of this month; and then the whole assembly of the children of Israel shall kill it at evening. 7 And they shall take some of its blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses where they eat it. 8 Then they shall eat its flesh on that same night, roasted in fire; with unleavened bread and bitter herbs they shall eat it. 9 Do not eat it raw or boiled with water, but eat it roasted in fire, together with its head, its legs, and its entrails. 10 You shall let nothing of it remain until morning [and you shall not break any of its bones]; but whatever remains of it until morning you shall burn with fire. 11 And thus you shall eat it: let your waist be girded, your footwear on your feet, and your staffs in your hands; and you shall eat it in haste: it is the Lord’s Passover lamb. 12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt on this very night and strike every firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast, and I will execute judgment on all the gods of the Egyptians. I am the Lord. 13 Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and no plague shall be among you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt. 14 So this day shall be to you a memorial; and you shall keep it as a feast to the Lord throughout your generations. You shall keep it as a feast by an everlasting ordinance.

Matthew 26:17–29

17 On the first day of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked Him, “Where do You want us to prepare the Passover for You?” 18 He said, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, ‘The Teacher says: My time is near; I will keep the Passover with My disciples at your house.’” 19 The disciples did as Jesus had commanded them and prepared the Passover. 20 When evening came, He reclined at the table with the twelve; 21 and while they were eating, He said, “Truly I tell you, one of you will betray Me.” 22 They were deeply grieved and began to say to Him, one after another, “Surely not I, Lord?” 23 He replied, “The one who dips his hand into the bowl with Me will betray Me. 24 The Son of Man will go just as it is written about Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would be better for him if he had not been born.” 25 Then Judas, who was betraying Him, said, “Surely not I, Rabbi?” Jesus said to him, “You have said it.” 26 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after giving thanks, He broke it and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is My body.” 27 Then He took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you, 28 for this is My blood of the New Covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. 29 I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you wine in My Father’s kingdom.”

Follow him into the house he enters, 11 and say to the owner of the house, ‘The Teacher asks: Where is the guest room where I may eat the Passover with My disciples?’ 12 He will show you a large upper room, furnished and ready. Make the preparations there.” 13 So they went and found everything just as He had told them, and they prepared the Passover. 14 When the hour came, Jesus reclined at the table, and the apostles with Him. 15 And He said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before My suffering. 16 For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God.” 17 After taking the cup, He gave thanks and said, “Take this and divide it among you. 18 For I tell you, I will not drink from the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” 19 And He took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 20 In the same way, after supper He took the cup, saying, “This cup is the New Covenant in My blood, which is poured out for you.”

Matthew 28:1–10

1 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. 2 And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, came and rolled away the stone from the door of the tomb, and sat on it; 3 his appearance was like lightning, and his clothing was white as snow; 4 and the guards trembled with fear of him and became like dead men. 5 But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. 6 He is not here; He has risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay, 7 and go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead and is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.” 8 So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell His disciples. 9 [[And as they went to tell His disciples,]] behold, Jesus met them and said, “Rejoice!” And they came up, took hold of His feet, and worshiped Him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brothers to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me.”

Isaiah 53:5–7

5 But He was wounded for our transgressions and crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed. 6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray; each of us has turned to his own way, and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed and afflicted, yet He willingly suffered and did not open His mouth; like a sheep He was led to the slaughter, and as a lamb before its shearer is silent, so He did not open His mouth.
