How to Become a Millionaire
It all began with a prophecy from Darrell Stott, who told Agus that he would become a millionaire in a short time. After that, Agus dreamed of seeing pools filled with fish. In the dream, God showed him exactly which fish to raise. Agus started with one pool (pond). He bought one arowana (the name of this fish) and put it in the pool. That was how his business began to grow. He prayed and asked God what he should do, and God gave him wisdom through dreams and visions.
The arowana is a very rare and unusual fish. It reproduces in a unique way. The female lays eggs. Then the male gathers all the eggs in his mouth and carries them until the fry hatch. During this entire time, the male does not eat because his mouth is occupied. This is approximately 30–40 days of “fasting.” He carries the young as a hen incubates her chicks. When the fry break through the egg membranes and emerge, the male opens his mouth and releases them into the water. The egg is attached to the fry; it is its stomach, containing all the food it needs. The fry feeds from this egg and grows, while the egg itself decreases in size and eventually retracts into the fish’s abdomen, becoming its fully developed stomach.
Arowana are raised for approximately four years and then sold. One fish costs between USD 20,000 and 30,000. The price depends on its size, shape, and color. The most expensive is the red arowana. Accordingly, smaller fish cost less. Fry cost USD 100–200 each. The arowana is a very rare predatory fish. It is a true cannibal. If hungry, it can eat another arowana that is smaller or weaker. For this reason, collectors keep this predator in an aquarium isolated from other fish.
Agus told how God protects his fish business. His fish live in special pools (ponds) dug into the ground. Each pool contains a specific number of fish. One day, the river overflowed and flooded his pools. The water rose one meter above ground level. He began to pray fervently because nothing prevented his valuable fish from swimming away with the current in any direction. The water remained for several days and then gradually receded. When Agus decided to check his pools, he no longer hoped to find any arowana in them. Yet not only had all the fish remained—each pool contained the same number of pairs of arowana. “This is the work of God’s angels,” the businessman testified.
One pool contains 50–60 pairs of arowana. That is approximately 2,000,000 dollars. Agus now has more than 100 pools. In other words, his open-air ponds alone contain 200,000,000 dollars’ worth of stock.
Agus showed me the new land he had recently purchased. It is a vast area surrounding a lake. The jungle is now being cleared there, and new pools are being built. Agus also wants to build a new home there, directly over the water. An asphalt road will be built to the area, and the land will then begin to be developed. It will be a prestigious area with a healthy environment and organic produce.
