Dmitriy Leo’s parable about how to properly use personal prophecies, spiritual experiences, revelations, and visions, and how this will subsequently influence public ministry.
The Parable of “The Foolish and Responsive Worker”
The vineyard owner stood on the tower and watched the workers. He noticed a young man working diligently and decided to speak with him. The owner offered the young man:
— If you wish, I am ready to teach you the vineyard trade and reveal many secrets to you. But your part is to do everything I tell you.
The young man agreed. He was given his first task, and he went and completed it. The next day, the task was different, and he went and completed it again. On the third day, the vineyard owner said to the young man:
— I am leaving on a long journey. For one month, you will have to complete certain tasks.
After giving out all the assignments, the owner left. A few days later, the young man wondered why he should do all the work. He looked for a conscientious worker in the vineyard and told him that there was important work the owner had assigned and that it would be paid. The hired worker said it would be an honor for him to carry out the owner’s assignment and agreed.
A month later, the vineyard owner returned and immediately checked the assignments he had given. The work had been done very well. Then he asked the young man whether he had done it himself or whether someone had helped him.
The young man answered honestly that he had hired another worker, but had carefully checked to ensure the work was done well. The young man added that he was ready to give the worker the payment due to him.
Then the vineyard owner asked them to call the responsive worker. When he was brought in, the owner said to the young man:
– I entrusted all the work to you to train you and test whether you could manage my vineyard.
The young man replied with a smile:
– As you can see, I can.
Turning to the responsive worker, the owner said:
– You are no longer a hired worker; you are a co-owner. I appoint you manager over the entire vineyard.
Then the saddened young man asked:
– What should I do?
– My new manager will decide that now.
the vineyard owner replied.
