If you need healing from illness, deliverance from demons, freedom from bondage or curses, this guide will help you.
Just as electricity travels through wires to your home, healing power flows from God and His people. After electricity is delivered to your home through power lines, it patiently waits in the outlet until there is a need to plug in an appliance. The outlet does not care whether a hair dryer or a lamp is plugged into it.
This is very similar to how God works. He supplies the power for healing and deliverance. He has already provided for EVERY need humanity could possibly have. It does not matter what kind of illness it is—the power from God for healing is already present, and any Christian can be the conduit.
During the Ministry
1. You may feel something. Your body’s response to the power of God may vary. You may feel heat or cold, strength or weakness. Some people may tremble, while others may cry. Remember, everyone responds differently to the power of the Holy Spirit. If you feel something, that is wonderful—it means the power of God is touching you, either healing, delivering, or strengthening you.
2. You may feel nothing. It is like going to a dentist or doctor who gives you a “local” anesthetic; the only way to know that something happened is to see it. Most people want to feel something, but in reality, this is the lower form of faith. The higher form of faith is simply to receive from God. In the world, “the visible produces faith,” but in Christianity, “faith produces the visible.” The more tangible evidence you need in order to believe, the less you are acting in faith.
So, if you feel something, that is normal; if you feel nothing, that is normal too. Just be sure that the people ministering to you are leading you from sickness to health.
Advice. As soon as ministry has been given to you, regardless of the visible results, you should thank God for your healing. Do not reject your healing by saying that you have not been healed simply because you felt nothing.
After the Ministry
1. Speak aloud about your victory. Do not say words that disagree with the Bible and the prayer of faith prayed for you. Sometimes healing happens instantly, while in other cases it occurs gradually. Say what the Bible says about your illness: “By His wounds you have been healed” (1 Peter 2:24).
2. Remain in faith. Do not base your healing on what you feel. We must rely completely on God, regardless of whether we feel anything when ministry is being given to us. Remember: the less faith you have, the more God may give you sensations to help you cooperate with what He is doing in you. Conversely, the more faith you have, the less you will need to feel anything.
3. Keep praying. There is no limit to how many times you can receive prayer for healing. No problem is too big or too small. If you do not see improvement after some time, continue to stand in faith and personally pray for your “miracle,” and ask God’s people to pray for you again. Sickness is your enemy, and it must leave your life. Jesus has already defeated this enemy and healed you; now your task is to remove the obstacles so that you can receive this healing by faith.
4. Read the Bible regularly. You need to nourish your faith so that in the future you can withstand any attack of the enemy yourself: weakness or sickness. The Word of God will help you have the right mindset and faith for victory.
5. Testify about your victory. You should tell others what happened to you, giving glory to God for healing or deliverance. Even if you did not see quick results, you should still give glory to God for helping you. By testifying, we strengthen ourselves in faith and minister to others who have a similar problem.
6. Pray for others. If possible, you should pray for someone else who has a similar problem. It is easier for people to receive prayer from those who have experienced a miracle themselves. The best way to pray for someone is to pray with the same power and attitude with which others prayed for you.
7. Live with the Lord. Remember that even if healing occurred instantly, you will be tested to see whether you have truly received healing. During this trial, remember that it is not God testing you. He knows whether you were healed, and He knows whether you know that you were healed. He expects to see you resist the enemy—the devil—and tell him what happened. The best way to protect yourself from the enemy’s attacks is to immerse yourself in the life and teaching of Jesus Christ.
Conclusion
God’s purpose and calling for you on this earth are for your life to resemble the life of Jesus Christ. You must not only walk free from the enemy’s attacks, but also set other captives free.
