On Sunday, May 24, I held two services at a church on the outskirts of Surabaya. The church is very passionate, and its pastor is a vivid, charismatic woman with a raspy voice. I enjoyed their praise.
Children serve on stage alongside the adult musicians and singers. In some churches, children run around during praise, but here the children dance and sing on stage. A leader stands in front of them, showing them which movements to make, and the children follow along. But the most interesting thing is that the children not only dance and sing; they also add words such as “Jesus!” and “Amen!” at different parts of the songs, or simply shout, “Aaaaa!”
It fits so dramatically into the praise. At the end of the songs, the children create such a great joyful noise that it seems as if there are at least a thousand of them. Wow! They have so much energy. I watched them and thought: this is the best place for children during praise—to praise the Lord.
I shared two messages with this church: “Jesus Responds to Faith, Not Expectation” and “The Real Jesus.” Then I prayed for the people. As always, the Holy Spirit touched people, and they received miracles. I was given some healing testimonies; they promised to send the rest by email (though I doubt they will).
A Few Testimonies
- Because of pain in her legs, the woman had to walk with a cane. After prayer, the pain disappeared completely, and she can now walk freely.
- For seven months, a man had suffered from severe lower back pain, and both his knees crackled when he bent them. Every morning during those months, getting up was very painful for him. Standing up after sitting on the floor was torture. But after the first day of revival, when he got up the next morning, he suddenly realized that the pain had disappeared. A few days later, he also realized that there was no longer any cracking or grinding in his knees. Glory to God!
- The woman suffered from back pain every time she went to bed and whenever she coughed. After attending the first service, she felt relief. When she took a nap during the day, she was surprised to discover that she no longer felt any pain.
- There was also a woman who suffered from pain in her left knee. She felt pain when bending her knees. Sitting on the floor was torture for her. At the first service, she still felt pain. But at the second service, she tried bending her knees and sitting on her bent knee, and was amazed to find that she no longer felt any pain.
- A woman came to the service in a wheelchair; she had a problem with her left knee. After prayer, she was very grateful that the pain in her knee had completely disappeared and that she was able to walk on her own, without anyone's help.
- There were other testimonies as well.
Woman, get up from your wheelchair; your place is in the front row…
Let me add a little more about the healing of the woman who came to the service in a wheelchair.

The woman no longer needs a wheelchair
The woman got up from her wheelchair after prayer
The first time I prayed for this woman, she felt nothing and sat back down in her wheelchair. However, I told her several times from the stage: “Woman, the wheelchair is not your place; your place is on the chair in the front row.” I prayed for her perhaps four times. In the end, it happened… The woman came forward and testified that the pain in her knee had completely disappeared, and that she could now move around independently. Glory to the Lord!
And airplanes again
We are now on a plane in Surabaya, preparing to depart for Jakarta. Then we have to visit the embassy and prepare to fly to the island of Kalimantan. Our plans have changed.
Darrell Stott is not feeling well and will remain on the island of Java. So far, his recovery is progressing slowly. Please pray for Darrell's health.
I am scheduled to conduct five services in Kalimantan without Darrell. No one there knows me at all. I was hoping that Darrell would introduce me to the churches and collect offerings, but our plans have changed. This is not very good, but what can we do… now it is forward only… and only by the grace of the Lord. These are new challenges and adventures for me. Oh Lord, help me. Friends, please support me in prayer.
I have been ministering in Indonesia for 10 days now and, to be honest… I want to go home. I miss our church, my family, and my friends. Once again, I am convinced that God appoints as pastors those who do not want to be pastors. Those who do not want to be missionaries are the ones God sends on missionary trips. I’m talking about myself…
Please don’t think I’m complaining. I say this with a smile. It is a great honor for me that God sends me to the other side of the globe to minister to people through me. Being used by God is an honor. Many people have been healed, many have been delivered from death, the blind see, the lame walk, the mute speak, and the Gospel is being preached… Thank You, Lord!
That’s all for now. Pray for me. Thank you.
With love, Dmitriy Leo.
