I’m sitting on a plane, preparing to fly from the island of Kalimantan to the island of Java, to Jakarta. We held two services in the cities of Putusibau and Ngabang. So, in order…
We got up very early and went to a charismatic church in central Putusibau. An interesting church, very calm; everything is done properly… somehow unfamiliar. The previous evening, we ministered at the church in Anjungan, where the sound was terrible, it was hot, and there were thousands of people, but… the spiritual atmosphere was superb. All these inconveniences were worth it to see people who were hungry and passionate, as well as to see a woman rise from her wheelchair.
But the church in Putusibau was very different from the church in Anjungan: a beautiful hall, clear sound, professional musicians, everyone dressed up, and air conditioning in the hall. Somehow everything was too comfortable and peaceful, which troubled me. In my spirit I sensed that something was wrong here.
I preached a good, tried-and-tested message and then prayed for the people, but there was zero level of faith in the hall. When I called everyone who needed healing to come forward, no one moved. That cannot be! Only after several attempts did I manage to “bring” some people forward for prayer. Obviously, there is some kind of wrong teaching in this church. I believe that by God’s grace someone was healed after all, but I did not call people forward to give their testimonies because there was little time.
The vice mayor of the city and his wife received healing
Then we went to pray for influential people in the city. The vice mayor of Putusibau and his wife were very ill. When we entered their home, they were sitting on the edge of the bed and looked very sad and sick. The wife had some kind of infection in her head that was destroying her from the inside. As a result, the woman had lost feeling in her right leg and could not move it. The husband had some kind of infection in his stomach. The doctors could not cure him; he could barely eat and was in such severe pain that he could hardly walk. In short, I prayed for them and told them they were healed and that they would feel a change when I left their home. Later, we received a message that after the prayer, the vice mayor felt better, the pain went away, he ate, and he came to our friend's home by himself to tell him what had happened to them. His wife also received a miracle: after the prayer, she felt better and began moving her right leg. Glory to the Lord!
Then we went to Ngabang.
It took us more than four hours to get to the service. The church building in Ngabang holds more than a thousand people, with additional chairs outside. A good church. Passionate worship, hunger, very loud, fervent prayers... simply excellent! It was clear that the Church was prepared both spiritually and administratively. And what do you think happened at the service? The Lord performed many miracles there.
Here is what I learned during the crusades in Indonesia. If a church is not prepared for a healing service, far fewer people receive healing than in churches that are prepared for it. The Church must be trained in how to receive healing, what to do after being healed, and how to share testimonies. It is also necessary to have a trained ushers' team and an interview team.
Before the man of God arrives, the Church must be prepared so that people have expectation and faith. Why is this important? Unfortunately, even believers can have a great deal of unbelief, disappointment, and doubt. Some have grown cold in faith and simply expect that “it” will happen someday. Expectation and faith are different states. If we want to see more results, we all need to prepare ourselves. I think the Church in Ngabang was well prepared. This is one of the reasons we saw many miracles there.
When we arrived in Ngabang, we were immediately given good news. A few days earlier, I had conducted a healing service in the village of Putussibau. I prayed for a woman who had a large tumor in her reproductive organs. She needed surgery. The next day after the service, blood and pus began flowing from her, and the tumor simply came out of her body. Glory to the Lord!
Once again, I am convinced that people discover many miracles after services. Our task is always to leave people in a state of faith, so that after the services they expect wonderful things to happen to them.
In Ngabang, I preached on the topic “This Is Your Day for a Miracle,” and then we prayed. There were many testimonies, but we were so tired that we did not remember them all. Here are a few testimonies.
- A woman had a polyp in her nose that prevented her from breathing normally. Doctors said she needed surgery. After the prayer, the polyp dematerialized (disappeared), and the woman began breathing normally.
- A girl had suffered from asthma for many years, but after the prayer, she was able to breathe normally. She expressed her joy exuberantly!
- The woman had kidney stones, so she constantly felt pain—even when she touched her skin. After prayer, she experienced relief. But when there was a word of knowledge that the stones were disappearing, she felt movement in her kidneys, and the pain completely disappeared. She felt herself, pressed hard with her fingers on the kidney area, and rejoiced that the pain was gone.
- Another woman had problems with her bronchial tubes and breathing—severe allergies to strong odors. She became ill during the service because of the abundance of strong odors and perfumes. After prayer, she felt something leave her, and she began breathing normally.
- After prayer, the girl began hearing well in the ear whose hearing had been impaired.
- As a result of an injury, the young man had a spinal injury in the tailbone area. During prayer, he felt the power of God: something shifted in his spine and fell into place. After that, the pain completely disappeared. He received healing.
- Some time ago, the man fell from an eight-meter coconut palm and injured his back. It was painful for him to walk, and he could not stand for long. After prayer, all the pain disappeared, and he can now stand for a long time.
- The woman had suffered from hemorrhoids for many years, accompanied by bleeding. After a word of knowledge that the bleeding was stopping, the woman felt the touch of the power of God, and the pain in the area where the hemorrhoids had been completely disappeared.
- There was a word of knowledge that a woman in the hall had undergone surgery on her right side this year. Pain remained after the surgery, and God was removing it. The woman came forward and testified that it was about her. After prayer, she felt herself, pressed on her right side, and rejoiced because she had been healed and there was no more pain.
- And many others.
Thank You, Lord, for everything. My ministry in Kalimantan has now come to an end. Tomorrow I am flying to Semarang, where six major services are scheduled in the largest church in the country, pastored by Petrus Agung. He is one of Indonesia’s best-known and most influential pastors. Everywhere I have been, people talk about him, and all the churches copy what is happening in Petrus’s church.
The biggest and most demanding services are ahead, and I am expecting many thousands of miracles. I have one day to rest. I will sleep, pray, and prepare. Thank you all for your support and prayers!
With love, Dmitriy Leo.
To conclude, here is a little Indonesian praise and worship.
