Isaiah 9:6–7

6 For a child is born to us, a Son is given to us, and the power will rest on His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of His power and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to establish it and uphold it with judgment and righteousness from now on and forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this.

Matthew 1:18–25

18 The birth of Jesus Christ happened this way: after His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child by the Holy Spirit. 19 Joseph, her future husband, being a righteous man and unwilling to disgrace her, resolved to divorce her secretly. 20 But as he considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said: “Joseph, son of David! Do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, because what has been conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit; 21 she will give birth to a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins. 22 All this happened so that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet might be fulfilled: 23 “Behold, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a Son, and they will call His name Immanuel,” which means “God with us.” 24 When Joseph awoke from his sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary as his wife, 25 but did not know her as his wife until she gave birth to her Son [[her firstborn]], and he called His name Jesus.

Matthew 2:1–12

1 When Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of King Herod, magi from the east came to Jerusalem 2 and asked: “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? We saw His star when it rose and have come to worship Him.” 3 When King Herod heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. 4 And gathering all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he asked them: “Where is the Christ to be born?” 5 They said to him: “In Bethlehem of Judea, for this is what was written through the prophet: 6 ‘And you, Bethlehem, land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah, for from you will come a Ruler who will shepherd My people Israel.’ 7 Then Herod secretly summoned the magi and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared 8 and sent them to Bethlehem, saying: “Go and search carefully for the Child, and when you find Him, report back to me, so that I too may go and worship Him.” 9 After hearing the king, they went. And behold, the star whose rising they had observed went before them until it finally stopped over the place where the Child was. 10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly 11 and, entering the house, they saw the Child with Mary, His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him; then, opening their treasures, they presented Him with gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh. 12 And having been warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they departed for their country by another way.

Luke 1:26–38

26 In the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, 27 to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Miriam. 28 And the angel came in to her and said, “Rejoice, highly favored one! The Lord is with you; [[blessed are you among women]].” 29 But when she saw him, she was troubled by his words and wondered what kind of greeting this was. 30 And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Miriam, for you have found favor with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. 33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His Kingdom there will be no end.” 34 Then Miriam said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” 35 The angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, the Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren, 37 for with God no spoken word will be impossible.” 38 Then Miriam said, “Behold the servant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

Luke 2:1–20

1 In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. 2 This was the first registration when Quirinius was governor of Syria. 3 And everyone went to be registered, each to his own city. 4 Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, 5 to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was pregnant. 6 And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth; 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn Son, wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. 8 In that region there were shepherds staying out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them: Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people: 11 for today a Savior has been born for you in the city of David, who is Christ the Lord; 12 and this will be a sign for you: you will find a Baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger. 13 And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying: 14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom He is pleased! 15 When the angels had departed from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another: Let us go to Bethlehem and see what has happened, which the Lord has made known to us. 16 And they hurried and found Mary and Joseph, and the Baby lying in a manger. 17 When they saw Him, they made known what had been told them about this Child. 18 And all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds told them. 19 But Mary treasured all these things, pondering them in her heart. 20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, just as it had been told them.
