Dmitriy Leo on the BBC film exposing Prophet T. B. Joshua

January 18, 2024

This morning, I was in the secret place, praying about the controversy surrounding the BBC film. I asked the Holy Spirit what I should say in response to the criticism following the film about Prophet Joshua. In response, I heard: Write the truth. Write what you know.

With additions as of January 18, 2024

So, I watched all three parts of the film in English and then watched them again with translation. My initial reaction was unpleasant, but many things made me suspicious. For those who do not know, I am a former television professional and a highly experienced analyst. Having worked my way from camera operator, editor, director, and screenwriter to technical director of a television company, I see films and all video content differently.

What Made Me Suspicious

1. Video production for the BBC, even one minute of it, costs a great deal of money. Producing a three-hour film requires a very large budget. In other words, someone commissioned this film and paid well for it, and they are certainly enemies of Christianity.

2. Throughout its existence, the BBC has demonstrated an extremely negative attitude toward Christianity, particularly toward the Protestant movement. On the contrary, the BBC is a mouthpiece for propaganda promoting all kinds of abominations and anti-biblical values. This outlet serves the side of darkness.

3. As a screenwriter, I saw a different message in the film. It follows the structure of a feature film, not a documentary. The message is not about a prophet. He is merely the bad character in this film, opposed by the good ones. In reality, the film “proves” that churches, miracles, pastors, and Christianity itself are fake, and that everything is done solely for some kind of gain. That is the message it conveys to the world. This is a calculated plan whose ultimate goal is to incite persecution of Christians throughout the world.

4. I saw three people in the film who have long been known as fraudsters. They have already been exposed many times. Many videos have now been released in English in which pastors present video evidence of those individuals’ fraud. I watched several videos and confirmed that this is true.

  • There is a video on YouTube in which witnesses—pastors—expose Bisola Johnson for fraud at the Synagogue. She extorted large sums of money from visitors, claiming that the prophet was asking them for money. When people at the Synagogue found out about it, it turned out that this was not the first time.
  • Bisola (Bisola Johnson) said in the film that she was lying on the floor in front of all the disciples, with her skirt raised, and was being beaten with ropes. The second accuser, named Paul (Agomon Paul), confirmed this. But there is a video of the event showing Bisola lying on the floor in front of all the disciples, repenting of her sins and asking for forgiveness. She was forgiven, and the prophet gave her a chance to change; after that, she left the Synagogue. In other words, Bisola and Paul lied in the film.
  • The accuser named Paul (Agomon Paul) said that the miracles in the Synagogue were staged and fabricated. But there is another, earlier video in which he says in the Synagogue that he witnessed many genuine miracles of God. Paul was expelled from the Synagogue for proven sins, and afterward he began lying about the church in every possible way. After the prophet's death, Paul came to the Synagogue and repented before the disciples and wise men, admitting that he had lied about the prophet and this church. This video is also available on YouTube.
  • The accuser named Sihle (Sihle Sibisi) has long been known as a liar who tells stories about how various men seduced her. According to her, every man of God she has ever met raped her. Her stories even include the Zulu king Misa. In reality, Sihle sleeps with different men, then records them on video or takes photos of them, and later blackmails them. There is video evidence of this, which she made herself.

5. The girl named Ajoke (Ajoke), presented in the film as the prophet's illegitimate biological daughter, is a fictional character. There is a video showing that she was abandoned at the Synagogue as an infant, and the church was forced to take her in and assume responsibility for her care. There is also a video in which the prophet himself gathered all the disciples and read police reports stating that Ajoke had admitted to stealing a large sum of money. She stole money at the Synagogue. The video contains much evidence proving that she was not the prophet's daughter at all. This is a well-known fact at the Synagogue, yet the film presented her as the prophet's illegitimate daughter.

The fact that the other accusers in the film also called her the prophet's daughter proves that they were following a script rather than telling the truth. Incidentally, some of the accusers in the BBC film were also at this meeting. This can be seen in the video. Thus, they were lying.

6. The story about the building's collapse was deliberately distorted. There is video evidence online showing that a government investigative team concluded that the building had been constructed in compliance with engineering standards. The foundation had a reserve capacity for a 20-story building, while only six stories had been built. This was confirmed in the last video by the wise man Harry. They hired the best companies in the world to design and construct it. A French company supplied the steel and concrete, and everything was done under the supervision of foreign designers and engineers. All the documents are in the church archives.

There are reports from the CIA, the SS, Mossad, and others stating that the building was blown up using military explosives. A passing military aircraft remotely activated the explosive devices. The video shows the building “folding,” as happens in a professional building demolition. The intelligence reports mention that the video shows not only dust but also smoke from the explosion, coming from all sides of the building. Thus, this is another lie by the prophet's former disciples, specifically Chloe.

7. The film's release only after the prophet's death was not accidental. He can no longer sue them for defamation. And since the main accused character is the prophet, while the church is mentioned only incidentally, the church also has no compelling reason to sue. The film contains no one from the BBC, only outsiders, which also distances the BBC from responsibility. It is clear that professionals wrote the script and coordinated it with lawyers.

8. No criminal cases have been opened based on the testimony of the film’s actors, although under current law they testified about serious crimes. And this is a very important detail. Why not sue? After all, they could win millions from the Church in damages. The answer is obvious: they would not be able to prove it in court, because all the witnesses would be heard.

9. The film features only accusatory individuals, with no interviews, explanations, or comments from the other people (disciples, evangelists, wise men, the prophet’s family, and staff) who were there at the same time and in the same place. Their testimonies are available on YouTube, and they say the opposite, but the BBC ignored them.

10. All the participants in the film lived their own lives and had no contact for many years. Two of them (Paul and Bisola) had even become enemies of the other disciples. Bisola (Bisola Johnson) published a book with the sensational claim that T. B. Joshua raped her and now earns good money from his famous name.

At the end of the BBC film and on the Facebook account of Jessica Kaimu, one of the film’s accusers, there is a video showing all the film’s participants relaxing together outdoors, eating, enjoying themselves, and having fun. This is very strange. By the way, Jessica also works in television… just a small detail.

In short…

Many things in the film made me suspicious. I am not trying to defend the prophet or accuse him; I want to find out for myself where the truth lies. Yet the film only showed me all the BBC’s blunders, proving that it is not an investigation at all, but a typical paid-for film—and certainly not a documentary. Everything was said according to a script. And when people angrily attack me for not believing the people featured in this film… I will say even more: I do not believe any films. Especially films containing so many lies.

Next, I listened again to interviews with those who were in the synagogue at that time, but they told different stories—especially the wise men, who spent the most time with the prophet. They have all given interviews and pointed out the deceptions in this film. For example:

  • The prophet’s wife, Evelyn, spoke about the lies told by the film’s two main accusers, Paul and Bisola.
  • Wise Man Harry exposed many lies in the BBC film and answered all the questions.
  • Evangelist Chris Tong released a very important video confirming that during his 17 years of ministry at the Synagogue, he had never seen anything like what was described in the film. Chris Tong is Chloe Tong’s biological brother, one of the women accusing him in the film. Another accuser in the film, Angie Tong, is married to Chris’s biological brother, who was also with them at the Synagogue. Their whole family served at the Synagogue at that time.
So, despite being related to Chloe and Angie, Chris Tong did not remain silent; he stated that he had never seen anything like what they described in the film. He was also present at all those internal meetings, lived on the same floor as Joshua, and knew about everything that happened there. This is important to note.
  • John Chi, Christopher, Rassin, Daniil, and others. Many well-known pastors and prophets released videos exposing the lies in the BBC film.
  • The disciples (male and female) who were there at the same time are giving contradictory testimony. It is all available on YouTube.

It is sad that after this film, some believers attacked the prophet, SCOAN, his disciples, and everyone who had any connection with this ministry. Now they accuse everyone… having received “revelation” from the BBC. And some are even trying to place all the blame on those defending the prophet’s honor.

They should have gathered all the information first, and only then drawn conclusions and said or written anything publicly (unless God told them to do so). I hope the followers of such “truth fighters” will take off their rose-colored glasses…

When people choose to believe lies and refuse to listen to the truth… whose side are they on?

And let me remind you: apart from the accounts of people in the film, there are no proven accusations from any human rights organizations (which were mentioned in the BBC article). No case has been opened against the Synagogue based on this film. Therefore, it is wrong to accuse the prophet and those who are defending him now. No charges have been brought; we are dealing only with a staged film.

I will answer three questions

1. Could people really lie like that on camera? The answer is yes. People do this when they are paid large sums for interviews and for their silence. It is common practice on television.

2. Could someone make something like that up? After all, he is only saying what happened to him. There is a well-known trick. A screenwriter invites someone to tell the truth and offers them an amount that is difficult to refuse. People then cross that line and agree to be shown around the world (without concealing their names). Then, in the studio, the screenwriter suggests adding some details to their account according to the script so that viewers will understand it better. And they cite “reliable” information from supposedly trustworthy people who wished to remain anonymous.

We spoke with a believer who told a lie on camera (according to a script) about a well-known pastor, and the whole country saw the film. When asked why he had done it, the man replied that he needed money. The interview was extremely realistic and included such details that it was difficult not to believe the story. But it turned out to be a lie.

Once, after a church service, someone approached me and asked for wise advice. He had been offered the chance to appear on a well-known channel and give testimony against a pastor (following exactly the same scheme I described above). They offered very good money. Of course, I dissuaded him from committing such a sin.

3. But people fear God’s punishment, so surely they would not lie? Sadly, they do. People lie straight to your face, lie in court, lie with their hand on the Bible, and lie to God. People lie and fear no one. One does it knowingly and with a purpose, another because of deep emotional wounds, a third because of an orphan spirit, and another under the influence of an unclean spirit. Then a person comes to their senses and realizes that they were not in control of themselves at that moment, but by then there is often no way to undo it. Most often, it is unforgiveness, resentment, and envy.

Conclusion

One person is also trying to place the blame on me now, saying that I supposedly failed to recognize the sinner in the prophet and promoted his ministry.

I traveled to SCOAN for more than 12 years, one to three times a year, and learned there. I helped organize trips for those who were sick and wanted to receive healing at the Synagogue or be delivered. We knew the prophet personally, and I spoke extensively with those who were close to Joshua.

Over all those years, I saw genuine healings, miracles, and deliverances with my own eyes at SCOAN. I myself experienced many blessings through this minister. He always preached from the Bible and called people to holy living, abiding in prayer and in the Word of God.

I am answering the question of why I did not see a sinner in him during all that time.

I did not see a sinner in him because the prophet Joshua showed us, right up to the last day of his life, an example of a good minister—a man of God through whom God worked powerfully. Is this not what every normal Christian looks at?

I will ask the critics a question:
– Did you do—and do—you act any differently?

And why should I justify myself for learning from a successful minister? The prophet helped me greatly, and I will not slander him. I will always be grateful to God for all the good that came into my life through Joshua's ministry.

God bless!

P.S. Especially for critics

I foresee hate, malice, and so on in the comments… I will not respond or justify myself… I don’t have time for that. I spent many hours studying both sides and finding answers for myself. I also corresponded with eyewitnesses who served in the Synagogue and know all these people.

This staged film contained so many lies that I have no desire to try to look for the truth there. And especially, I will not pay attention to news that someone supposedly told someone else something about the prophet in secret. I do not collect gossip. Anyone who needs additional information can find it online—search, and you will find it…
