Dmitriy Leo, senior pastor of Father’s Blessing Church, explains the difference between demons and unclean spirits.

I have heard many versions concerning the difference between unclean spirits and demons. There are many hypotheses. I will not describe all these versions, as there is no point. The fact is that the Bible interprets itself very well. Let us look at one interesting passage.
Mark 7:25 For a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit heard about Him, and she came and fell at His feet;
Mark 7:26 The woman was a Gentile, a Syrophoenician by birth; and she begged Him to cast the demon* out of her daughter.
Mark 7:29 And He said to her, “For this statement, go your way; the demon* has left your daughter.”
* The word translated as “demon” in the Synodal Translation is “demon” in the original text [daimonion].
Mark describes the same spiritual being using two different names: “unclean spirit” and “demon.” We respect modern commentators, but we should trust Mark’s description more.
I believe we should not complicate these topics, because people will become even more confused and there will be little benefit. We need to cast out demons in the name of Jesus.
