Dmitriy Leo. Know the Truth About Healing

January 12, 2022

Dmitriy Leo, senior pastor of Father’s Blessing Church, shared the sermon

If we have learned to apply the Word of God, if we have learned to work with God’s tools, then it will work in any area—including finances and anything else. The School of Healing is also, if you will, a school of faith. It all works together.

Let us pray: “Lord, we are beginning a new school. And we ask You to help us grow in this area, to experience more, and also to impart more to others. We want to see more people become healthy and free, and then go and help others become healthy and free.

Open our hearts so that we may compare ourselves with what we know, correcting anything that needs correction, and accepting something new where it is lacking. In the Name of Jesus Christ.” Hallelujah! Glory to the Lord! Amen.

Know the Truth

Everyone who knows the truth behaves differently. And the person who knows the truth can act at the same level, in the same dimension in which God acts. And you know, when it comes to healing, there are many pitfalls. On the one hand, it is a simple, obvious topic. What is so difficult?! Just pray this way or that way. Receive it this way. That is all. But at the same time, we see that although the topic is simple, the number of sick people is not decreasing. The techniques are simple, yet there are many sick people.

This is a signal to us that we must not say, “Well, I already know everything. I have already tried everything; it does not work”—no, no, no. This is self-deception. Faith cannot fail to work. The Word of God cannot fail to work. It means that something has been confused, something has been misunderstood, or we have combined something with something that should not be combined. So now we are beginning a school—not simply saying, “We already know something, so let us add something else”—no, no, no.

We will return to the very beginning. We will examine every single passage of Scripture, check our theology, and align all our thinking and actions with Scripture. We must not underestimate Scripture, because it is made up of quality seeds that are not visible. There is nothing special when you sow them, but when they bear fruit, it is wonderful fruit according to the nature of the seed.

You can create a School of Healing built solely on testimonies. People will be amazed, but that does not mean they will see the same thing in their own lives. Only the Word of God is able to produce fruit in a person’s life. Do you grasp the difference?! Testimonies can inspire you and build up your faith, but they cannot plant a new seedling in you that will produce fruit. Only the seed of the Word of God can plant something in you and grow something within you.

Therefore, when we talk about wanting to advance in healing, in the supernatural, and in miracles involving our bodies, we need to turn specifically to the Word. When you have good roots in the Word of God, an entire garden of such “oaks” of God’s truths—a strong root system—then you listen to testimonies, watch testimonies, and your faith grows and grows; the roots are nourished. But if there is barren soil, tiny roots, and little plants that are about to wither, then you need to sow again.

I am deliberately making this introduction so long so that you understand why there will now be a boring part. Testimonies are wonderful when you listen to them, but when you read the Word, people fall asleep; drowsiness sets in. May this not happen in the name of Jesus.

So, John 8:32: “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” This verse does not mean only that someone was not free, had demons, and then learned the truth and his demons left. No. This verse directly relates to healing. You will know the truth, and it will set you free; it will free you in this area, and you will receive healing, or you will be able to release more of God’s power through yourself for the healing of others.

Now I will ask questions that life raises for us concerning the healing ministry. And we will answer them using the Bible. Because in these matters, we must have a clear biblical explanation of why something happens and why it does not.

1. Does God heal today?

We should not simply say, “Yes, of course.” How do we know this? Malachi 3:6: “For I am the Lord, I do not change”; Hebrews 13:8: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” The Father does not change, and Jesus does not change. That is enough for us to say to any enemy, to any lie: “Today God heals—not because I see it or do not see it, and not because it happens in your church or does not,”—people say it does not happen because it does not happen among them.

I was talking with a minister, and he said, “Not a single miracle has happened in my life. I believe in healing, or at least I think I do, but I cannot see it.” It is hard to believe, but such situations exist.

2. Whom did God promise to heal?

Acts 10:38: “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him”—healing is for everyone! And this must be our firm conviction.

When people say, “God heals people who have faith, but He does not heal people like this. God heals some, but He does not heal others,”—that is not the theology we should believe. He heals everyone! Put anyone under the word “everyone”! Name anyone! Name a murderer, name a fornicator, name a religious person, name the most terrible person on the planet—it is no problem for God to heal him.

This means that serving these people should not be a problem for us, with this same faith, without setting conditions or deciding for God whether He will heal them or not.

I will tell you that not everyone prays for everyone. There is a kind of Christian religion that says, “Of course we will pray for you. But considering what you have done… You need to repent a lot.” People are already allowing doubt that God will heal the person. And with this doubt, they try to heal the person.

He heals everyone! He can heal everyone! He has every right to do so. And none of us knows when or whom God will graciously heal.

3. When has God promised to heal? That is, under what conditions?

1) When you pray. Mark 11:24: “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
Despite the theology that we should not pray for healing, we need to understand this correctly.

There are people who lay at home, groaning in their beds and praying for healing—and they received healing. In other words, through prayer, they prayed their miracle through. Therefore, we should not be categorical or cling to certain words. We declare healing to one another. Jesus said, “Heal.” We even heal people in the name of Jesus. But the Bible also says that we can ask for anything, and it will be given to us. Therefore, we can ask for healing. So, God heals people when they pray.

It is normal for someone to ask and pray for themselves. Don’t be overly clever and say, “I should only declare. So I won’t pray. Okay, I declare healing for myself”—no, just relax. Yes, there are moments when we are bold and declare. There are moments when you are lying down, have no strength, and simply groan and pray, “God, I’ve forgotten all my theology; I’m in such pain—heal me,” and He heals you. And you realize that prayer works. It turns out that you can pray for healing.

2) When you believe. Mark 11:22–23: “Have faith in God”—faith is involved here. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

The instruments of “prayer” and “faith” are different. Prayer is more about conversation, fellowship, and making a request. Faith, however, does not necessarily involve addressing someone; you apply faith to resolve something.

3) When you pray for others, God promises that He will heal. Here it says, “Those who believe will lay their hands on the sick”—you know the passage (Mark 16:18)—or James 5:16: “Confess your sins to one another and pray for one another” (it says, pray for one another), “that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”

4) When you call ministers, and they pray for you. James 5:14–15: “Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the Church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise them up; and if they have committed sins, they will be forgiven.”

4. Why does God heal? What reasons does He have for doing so?

I found six reasons, but there may be more.

1) It is God’s nature to give good things to His children, not evil things. Isn’t that how you treat your children?! This is God’s nature.

Ps. 102:1–4: “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits. He forgives all your iniquities, heals ALL your diseases; redeems your life from the grave, crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies.” Hallelujah! How do you like that?! This is a reason to bless the Lord, because He heals all your diseases.

Jas. 1:17: “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” Hallelujah! Every good gift comes from God.

Matt. 7:8–11: “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Heavenly Father give good things to those who ask Him!”

2) To give life abundantly. John 10:10: “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

3) Jesus speaks of people as sick and of Himself as the Physician. Matt. 9:12: “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.”

4) It is His Name. One of His names is Jehovah Rapha, which means “the Lord who heals you, the healing God.” He named Himself, revealed His Name to His people, and this is written in Exod. 15:26. By the way, this is a very important detail when we think about healing. We often look at it in the light of the New Testament, but even God’s very nature tells us: “It’s all right, I am the God who heals you.” Can you imagine that? This is what God calls Himself. “Do not worry; you can come to Me, because this is one of My names.” I love this!

“And He said: If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you” (Exod. 15:26).

The second part is more important to us: “For I am the Lord who heals you”—“For I am Jehovah Rapha,” says the Lord. And if we are at peace with God, then He is definitely the Lord of hosts for us, and Jehovah Jireh, who takes care of everything and provides. There are many Names, including Jehovah Rapha—He is my Healer.

5) God heals because His adversary, the devil, makes people sick. And He sent Jesus, His Son, to destroy the works of the devil. Therefore, God does this also because Satan has caused harm, and God cleans it up, as I would put it simply. He tore everything apart and broke it (I mean Satan), but God restores; He restores everything. Even for this reason. Because God is the Creator.

He does not simply watch while Satan breaks things here and there—a branch, for example, or leaves a mess somewhere. He loves this world; He loves what He created—all these plants, all these trees, all this beauty. Remember, when He created it, He delighted in it: “Very good. Beautiful.” Therefore, when God sees some kind of damage… And believe me, He is jealous over what people are doing to the earth today, imagining themselves to be gods, meddling with the atmosphere, trying to create things like gods, interfering with genetics—God is jealous, and He judges these people for it. And these will be severe judgments, because people have imagined themselves to be gods. But that is another story.

This is the fifth reason—there is an adversary who makes people sick. 1 John 3:8: “He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning”—notice, the devil sinned first! Isn’t that interesting?! It turns out that Adam and Eve were not the first to sin! Yet everyone says, “Adam and Eve sinned first,”—our theology is being called into question a little. “For the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”

6) God heals because Jesus paid for healing. He paid the price. His Son paid for it. Why does God heal? I named six reasons, but the sixth is very serious. Imagine that your child, whom you love dearly, said, “I’m going to give my life for these scoundrels.” You would say, “No! Please don’t! Don’t go! I didn’t raise you for this. Don’t go.” But there was a great plan, of course; still, a plan is a plan, but a living person—the Son of God—came to earth and endured this abuse, these spittings, this shame, being God Himself. He humbled Himself so greatly so that you and I could now enjoy being Christians and having our names written in heaven. So that we would not fear Jesus’ coming now, but would wait for Him to take us to heaven! And we will enjoy it forever. For this reason. Let us give the Lord great glory.

So, this is the sixth reason: God heals because Jesus took the sins of the world and delivered us from these diseases. Matthew 8:17: “This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: ‘He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases.’” Let us say this: “He took up my infirmities and bore my diseases.” We quote this passage so often, but we do not even reflect on the sacrifice involved—on the One who took our diseases.

Only great love could lead Jesus to the cross. To take someone’s diseases, to accept someone’s blows, for someone who had not even yet believed. Some would even turn away; some would say, “I don’t need any of this. I have my own god, my own life.” He did this for others! Therefore, God heals because of the sacrifice of His Son.

And when we have sound theology, friends, a correct understanding of the Word of God—that is, when we know the truth—then we have boldness to come and ask without doubt. Then we have boldness to stand on the Word to the end. Then we have boldness to reject every thought the devil gives us: “Why should God heal you?” You have six stones in your sling—so you can throw them straight at his forehead!

This was a basic lesson, but these are quality seeds. May no one steal them from you, so that they become your foundation and your basis. And if you are new to the Church, if you have recently received Jesus, or if you have never attended a healing school at all, remember this: if you lay this foundation, you will be able to build a very large building throughout your life, and it will not collapse. Build your foundation specifically on the Word of God. Not on testimonies, and not because Pastor Dmitriy, Vadim, or Yulia believes it; build your foundation on what God says and considers right.

And I will leave you with one thought: we have been speaking from the Word of God, but there is God’s part and there is our part; there is a sequence by which the Word works. Genesis 1:3: “And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.” And the light continues to move to this day. God does not say every morning, “Let there be light.” He said it once, and the light continues to move. Listen, God spoke different words into our lives, and they are recorded in the Bible. He spoke them once, but they still work today. Now our task is to accept or reject them, just as with the light.

If you need light right now, you can go outside and enjoy that light. Because God once said, “Let there be!” And always remember your part. Do not say, “The Word does not work”; do not say, “The promises do not work”; never say, “Faith does not work.” One piece of evidence is enough: “Let there be light”—and the light shines! In other words, what God said, the Word, continues to work and has power. If He has not revoked it, it has not gone anywhere.

Now our part. What will we do with this Word? It hangs over our heads—every promise, if you will. And for some people, it is, you know, right there in a little basket. Many shelves, lots of good Word in little trays like these. But it must be sown and produce fruit!

I am praying right now that the Word of God would always be the most precious seeds for us. So that when we sit at home and think, “Should I go watch something on Facebook, YouTube, or somewhere else, or should I read the Bible?!” we would understand which seeds are being spoken of.

I began this lesson with a passage of Scripture: “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free”—in every area. I am praying that each of us would make the effort to know the truth. And this takes work. To begin with, we need to find out what the truth is. The Word of God is written to be truth. And the Spirit of God is also truth (the Spirit of truth). The Word of God reveals to us what God says about us, while the Holy Spirit explains to us what God meant. Therefore, both the Word and the Spirit are very important to us. God’s Word and God’s Spirit are both very important to us.
And I am praying right now that each of us would make the effort to know the truth. And the truth itself will set you free. Because just as light shines, the truth will accomplish within you what God has said.

And, you know, in fact, everything is much simpler. Who among you believes that Jesus did not pray for His own healing?! He walked in perfect health; the truth was at work in Him. Jesus brought the truth and was the truth. He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” And this is how it should be.

I believe that one day, not only in Heaven but even here on Earth, you and I will cross this boundary: when we pray for one another, when we walk in truth, and health will be a side effect—health will be the work of truth within us! Deliverance will be natural!

In the Name of Jesus, I ask for my brothers and sisters who are here and those who are watching (and reading): make the effort to know the truth. May the Word of God be your most precious book, the most valuable material for study, the most valuable guide to healing, prosperity, casting out demons, and a priceless guide for your life—for remaining alive at all. May the Word of God become desirable to you, so that everything else—all the chaff—would move into the background, and everything additional would remain additional, but not primary. You can read books; you can watch someone’s teachings and sermons—we record them for that very purpose—but these are additions. The truth remains the truth!

In the Name of Jesus, I ask You, Lord, may someone today reconsider their priorities and values. May someone take out their dusty Bible today. May someone begin to know the truth again and become free.

And I challenge those of you who have said, “Oh, I have gone to many churches, but to this day no one has set me free. I attended every prayer meeting, and my child is still sick. I have served so much, I have paid such a high price, and my finances are still in disarray”—okay, if people have not helped you, the TRUTH will help you! God promised, “The truth will set you free”—in every area. Therefore, this is a challenge for you.
Option B did not work; people did not work. Return to Option A—the truth. God has spoken, and His Word will accomplish what He has said. Amen.

I bless you now in the Name of Jesus, that this hunger would rise up within you—a tremendous hunger to take up the Bible, go deeper, know the truth, and become free. May this passion return, this good habit of abiding daily in the living Word and feeding daily on the bread from Heaven. May this good habit return—the habit our fathers had, the habit people in ancient times had: they turned to the Word of God. And I bless you that this habit would be revived in you; for some, that it would grow even stronger. And for some who still do not understand at all what I am talking about, may this habit be born in you.

Perhaps you are a new Christian, and you grew up on YouTube and Facebook; you do not even understand what the basics are. So I urge you to follow what we talked about today: know the truth, and the truth will set you free. Then you will not run after people or some anointed ministers, and you will not be angry because you prayed and nothing happened or worry when something did not work out for you. Because it is the truth that will set you free, not our efforts or some actions of our own. I bless you!

And in conclusion, let us say: “We will know the truth, and the truth will set us free. Amen.” What an amazing promise the Lord has given us! Essentially, He said: know the Word, know My Spirit, taste it, try it, eat it, and you will be free. No effort required. This is the shortest way! An elevator! Hallelujah!
