A mother diagnosed with schizophrenia spoke coherently for the first time in 25 years

How God can use us even on a train to intervene in someone’s life and bring relief.

Pavla was returning by train from a trip. At two in the morning, she woke up and heard a woman crying in the same train car. They went into the corridor and started talking. The woman lived in Turkey and had come to Ukraine after learning of her mother’s death; she could find no comfort. Pavla told her about God’s love, and they prayed. Before Kyiv, the woman asked Pavla to stay with her until the next train and help her change trains because her son could not travel with her. They spent several hours together: sitting on a bench, having breakfast, and talking.

The woman mentioned that she had suffered from digestive problems for many years. Pavla gave her anointed cloth and told her to apply it to the affected area.

A few days later, the woman’s son called Pavla. According to him, his mother had been diagnosed with “schizophrenia” for about 25 years: it had been difficult to talk with her, and she spoke in many confused phrases. When his mother called him after the train journey, he heard her speak normally and coherently for the first time in 25 years. Pavla adds that during those hours, the thought of such a diagnosis did not even occur to her: the woman spoke perfectly normally.
