Matthew 5:33–37
33 Again, you have heard that it was said to those of ancient times: Do not break your oath, but fulfill your oaths before the Lord. 34 But I tell you: Do not swear at all—neither by heaven, because it is God’s throne; 35 nor by the earth, because it is the footstool for His feet; nor by Jerusalem, because it is the city of the great King; 36 nor swear by your head, because you cannot make a single hair white or black. 37 But let your word be: yes, yes; no, no. Anything beyond this is from the evil one.
James 5:12
But above all, my brothers, do not swear by heaven or by earth, or by any other oath. Instead, let your “Yes” be “Yes” and your “No” be “No,” so that you may not come under judgment.
Numbers 30:2
If anyone makes a vow to the Lord or swears an oath, pledging himself by a promise, he must not break his word but must fulfill everything that has come from his mouth.
Deuteronomy 23:21–23
21 When you make a vow to the Lord your God, fulfill it without delay, for the Lord your God will certainly demand it of you, and you will be guilty of sin; 22 but if you refrain from making a vow, you will not be guilty of sin. 23 Whatever your lips utter, be sure to do it, because you made your voluntary offering to the Lord your God with your own mouth.
Ecclesiastes 5:4–5
4 When you make a vow to God, do not delay in fulfilling it, for He takes no pleasure in fools. Fulfill what you promise. 5 It is better not to make a vow than to make one and fail to fulfill it.
Exodus 20:7
You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not leave unpunished anyone who misuses His name.
Leviticus 19:12

the one in whose eyes the rejected are despised, but who honors those who fear the Lord; who swears, even if it is to his own harm, and does not change;
Hebrews 6:13–18
13 For when God made a promise to Abraham, since He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, 14 saying: Surely, blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you. 15 And so, after patiently enduring, Abraham obtained the promise. 16 For people indeed swear by the greater, and an oath for confirmation is the end of every dispute among them; 17 thus God, desiring to show more abundantly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose, confirmed it by an oath, 18 so that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, we who have fled for refuge to take hold of the hope set before us,
Matthew 23:16–22
16 Woe to you, blind guides, who say: Whoever swears by the temple, it means nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple is bound by his oath. 17 Fools and blind! For which is greater: the gold, or the temple that sanctifies the gold? 18 Also: Whoever swears by the altar, it means nothing; but whoever swears by the gift that is on it is bound by his oath. 19 Fools and blind! For which is greater: the gift, or the altar that sanctifies the gift? 20 Therefore, whoever swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it; 21 and whoever swears by the temple swears by it and by Him who dwells in it; 22 and whoever swears by heaven swears by the throne of God and by Him who sits on it.
Psalm 24:3–4
3 Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in His holy place? 4 The one whose hands are blameless and whose heart is pure, who does not swear falsely by their soul or make a false vow to their neighbor—
