Lesson 8. The “Elementary Teachings of Christ” School is based on Hebrews chapter 6. These are seven elementary teachings in which the early Christian Church saw the foundation of the Christian faith.

Repentance from Dead Works

  1. Give the dictionary definition of the Greek word “repentance” [metanoia].
  2. What did John the Baptist preach? What central message did his preaching convey regarding sin?
  3. How does “repentance” [metanoia] differ from ordinary remorse or confession?
  4. List the consequences of sin that you know.
  5. Why does one person receive punishment for their sins while another seems to get away with everything?
  6. List the “dead works” (works of the flesh) described in Scripture.

Faith in God

Water Baptism

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

The Resurrection of the Dead

Eternal condemnation
